Joliet’s Light Up The Holidays Festival and Parade is Back!

The event sponsored by the University of St. Francis (USF) will run from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. “This year’s event will include a North Pole Market, North Pole Park, horse-drawn carriage rides and the always spectacular parade and firework show,” according to the Joliet City Center Partnership website.  Photo Courtesy of Joliet City Center Partnership The “Christmas Tree Lighting” which will begin at 5:15 p.m. at the Chicago Street Fountain will be led by USF President Arvid C. The Promenade Bolingbrook to Host its Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony!

The free family fun event will feature: Horse trolley rides from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., Santa visit at 3 p.m., story time in Barnes & Noble at 3 p.m. and a Holiday craft/vendor show from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. The Bolingbrook non-profit coalition will also be collecting new items for those in need this holiday season. Donors will be entered for a chance to win a $200.00 gift card! The Rialto Square Theatre to Start Holiday Celebration with “A Very Rialto Christmas!”

Photo Courtesy of Rialto Square Theatre By: Saba Aamir Joliet, IL.  – On November 21st, the Rialto Square Theatre will kick off its month-long holiday celebration,  Home for the Holidays , presented by ComEd, with “A Very Rialto Christmas.” The special holiday concert will feature “the Cathedral of Saint Raymond Nonnatus Youth Choir, Joliet Central Percussion Ensemble, The Joliet Drama Guild, along with members of the JJC Community Band, Cathedral Sinfonietta, North Park University Alumni and principal cellist of the Elgin Symphony, Matthew Agnew, under the direction of Mrs. Stacy Sienko,” according to the Rialto Square Theatre website. There will also be a Christmas tree lighting event at 6:00 P.M., where attendees can admire the beautiful Holiday trees and décor and take pictures. The special concert will then start at 7:00 P.M. Blue’s Clues & You! Live on Stage at the Rialto Square Theatre

Bolingbrook's Halloween Walk is Back!

The free family event will run from October 14th to October 31st and will be located behind the Town Center at 375 W Briarcliff Road. The Village is also looking for volunteers to help decorate a space surrounding the pond behind Town Center. Residents, homeowner associations, non-profit organizations, businesses and other groups are invited to set up Halloween displays along the path. Decorations will begin on Saturday, October 9th and must be completed by Friday, October 14th, by noon. After the decorations are completed, they will be open for the public to enjoy till October 31st.   Participants must fill out an application to decorate plots. Bolingbrook Blues Showcase is Happening on September 24

Claar Performing Arts Center on September 24, 2022. The showcase will feature nine bands from Chicagoland who will compete in round 2 of the “Chicago Blues Challenge."  The challenge will be timed, judged and scored as the bands perform. Finalists of the challenge will move on to the “International Blues Challenge” (IBC) in Memphis, according to the Bolingbrook Arts Council press release.  Performances for the showcase will feature Darren Jay and The Delta Souls, Downtown Charlie Brown and Binford, Hendricks and Cash, Kevin Purcell and The Nightburners, Lil Harvey and The Chitown Blues Band, A Patch of Blues, The Sean McKee Band, Tip Jar Stars and Win Noll and The Rockin’ Souls.
