Illinois Rock and Roll Museum to Host 1st Annual Wine & Jazz Festival

Joliet, IL. – The Illinois Rock and Roll Museum is hosting its first annual Wine & Jazz Festival at the Billie Limacher Bicentennial Park on Saturday, September 10th, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM. With various food, vendors, jazz and wine tasting, there will be something for everyone attending to enjoy. 

"We invite you to sip wine and listen to live jazz bands play beautiful music in the park," the Illinois Rock and Roll Museum states, "Enjoy the wine tasting and the sounds of smooth jazz."

The Illinois Rock and Roll Museum is known for celebrating the rich history of Illinois music. Through these events, they strive to engage and inform their visitors about Illinois's tremendous influence on music. They work with various artists, producers and creators to host events in the Joliet community. 

The Wine & Jazz Festival, sponsored by the Old National Bank, will provide wine from the award-winning wineries, Bishop Hill Winery of Joliet and Sable Creek Winery of Plainfield. Along with musical entertainment by Buddy Rich Big Band Machine, Event Horizon Quartet and the Joliet Junior Faculty Jazz Quintet. 

The museum encourages everyone to bring their blankets or chairs to enjoy the afternoon of wine and jazz. There will be food and other beverage vendors along the fountains of the Bicentennial Park, a scenic park in downtown Joliet known for providing entertainment through various events to the community. 

The tickets for this event are $20 for people who want to participate in wine tasting and $10 for people who only want to enjoy the music or purchase food or drink. You can purchase the tickets on the Illinois Rock and Roll Museum's website.

First Lion Electric School Bus in Joliet

In May 2021, Lion Electric, a Canadian-based manufacturer of commercial vehicles, selected Joliet to hold its future US manufactory due to a growing demand for electric school buses in the United States. Lion Electric positioned itself to help school districts with the transition to electric buses with the help of the EPA Clean Bus Program which funded the project with $5 billion. The EPA Clean Bus Program is part of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, a law that the Congress recently passed under President Joe Biden and which aimed to invest “ in [the] nation’s infrastructure and competitiveness,” according to the White House. The company’s efforts have paid off since they have now 700 electric vehicles on the road.       Lion Electric promised on January 2022...

The Emo Night Tour is Coming to Joliet!

They will be performing around the United States in 40 different venues, with one of the shows being in Joliet, IL, at The Forge on September 3, 2022. "The Emo Night Tour DJs will be spinning all the angst your teenage dirtbag heart desires all night long," their Facebook page states, "and will make you feel like you're at Warped Tour '08 minus all the dust and melting in the sun!"
