During this past week there have been numerous crimes that the Joliet Police Department have had to deal with. The following stories detail JPD's experiences with these crimes.

JPD's SWAT Team Finds Wanted Man in Attic
Joliet, IL - Eric D. Tyler is a 35-year-old criminal defendant who was arrested after hiding from the police. Tyler has multiple warrants out for his arrest for two counts of domestic battery, possession of a gun by a felon, theft, loan fraud, and wire fraud.
JPD located Tyler in the attic of a house on River Bend Lane. Once they discovered that he was located at this house, JPD closed off traffic and established a perimeter around the Lakewood On Caton Farm subdivision. The Special Operations Squad, which is the name of Joliet's SWAT team, provided help with searching and clearing the house and ensuring that Tyler was unarmed. Tyler is now in the Will County Jail awaiting trial.
Man Arrested After Shots Fired
Joliet, IL - Last Tuesday, a 31-year-old man named Rodney Little was arrested after reports of shots being fired. Little was booked into Will County Jail and charged with reckless discharge of a gun, obstructing a police officer and unlawful possession of a gun by a felon.
Once police arrived at Little's residence, the 700 block of Landau, Little was seen sitting in the yard. Police ordered Little to raise his hands and Little sprinted away. JPD had established a perimeter around the house and Little was eventually taken into custody. A loaded .22 caliber handgun was found in the yard where Little was sitting before he took off.
Little is a convicted felon and has been booked into Will Count Jail previously in 2015, 2017, and 2019.
Woman Attempts to Run Over Police
Joliet, IL - On October 30, 31-year-old Tierra Rodgers was arrested after attempting to hit five police officers and four civilians with her vehicle. Joliet police were in the middle of dealing with an unrelated call when Rodgers turned on to the street that the people were on and accelerated towards them. The officers and the civilians were by a parked car on Division street and had to jump out of the way to avoid being hit by the speeding vehicle.
Police eventually caught Rodgers on Hickory street and and took her into custody without struggle. She has been booked into Will County Jail with a $20,000 bail. She has also been filed with nine felony charges of aggravated assault.
