Everything Soccer

Picture found in History.com

Over the weekend of Saturday, September 17th soccer fans had lots of exciting content to consume. Not only did Joliet soccer fans have two major league games, but they have new teams forming in the Troy schools.

With Mexican Independence day has held on Friday 16th everyone was waiting for the soccer games on Saturday. They weren't disappointed with the day starting with the Mexican League game Club America taking on C.D Guadalajara, the final scoreboard two to one. This game did not count for Liga MX, the cup in which both teams are still participating this year. The game was concerned to be a practice-friendly game or a Classico (classic) in the Mexican League.

More locally in the Chicago area, the American League held a game in Solder field stadium to celebrate the start of the Hispanic month. Chicago Fire FC played against Charlotte FC, this game did count for Major League Soccer.  The final scoreboard read three to two, with Chicago Fire FC taking the win and standing at 12th place in the Eastern Conference while Charlottle stands in 9th place.

Chicago Fire did take an early lead of two points during the first half. However, the game was tied by the 75th minute in the second half.  The game would have remained tied if it was not for Karol Swiderski scoring the winning goal during the added seven minutes at the end of the game.

Even more locally Troy District 30 started its first year of having a soccer team.  All seven schools have created a boy and girl soccer team with the boys playing in the fall and the girls in the spring. These two new teams will be part of the 18 sports that the Troy schools have to offer. Summer camps for the students were held during the summer and tryouts were held sometime after school started.

This coffee shop is a little different from cafes already opened in the Joliet, Plainfield and Shorewood areas. Situated on 852 Sharp Drive in the Sharp Center off Black Road near Route 59 in Shorewood, the coffee shop, previously owned by a kickboxing studio, is close to the Bliss Hair Studio. The owners, Dana Buxbaum and her husband Shaun Tenant, mixed what they loved to create their idea of the perfect coffee shop. “I always wanted a coffee shop,” said Dana Buxbaum, “My husband and I combined our love of gaming with my vision of the coffee shop.” The coffee shop has made available bookshelves full of games such as Clue, The Serial Killer Trivia Game, Sorry, Dragoon and many more. In an interview with Patch editor, Buxbaum stated that they have “[...] about 400 games in [their] library” with family-friendly and inclusive...
Rory Richards Facebook Certain Fields From Profile Bios, Including “Religious Views”; Does Not Say Why Facebook has announced plans to remove certain fields from profile bios. Starting on December 1, users will no longer be presented with an option to list their sexual orientation, their political views, their address, or their religious views on their personal profiles. Facebook did not provide an explanation for this decision. The decision was announced one week after Meta, the parent company of Facebook, fired 11,000 employees, 13% of its total workforce; whether or not these two events are correlated, however, remains unclear.
