There has been a lot of violence recently in the Joliet area. This includes gun violence and physical assault. Here are several stories about these violent cases.
2 Teens Shot on McDonough Street
Joliet, IL- On Monday, September 6th, two teens were shot on the 1800 block of McDonough at around 11pm. The boys ages were 16 and 13. The 16-year-old was fatally shot and pronounced dead at St Joe's hospital. Fortunately, the 13-year-old boy was only grazed by gunfire.
Police arrived at the scene and provided immediate care for the boys until the ambulance arrived to take them to a nearby hospital. No arrests have been made and the Joliet Police Department continues their search for the shooter.
Woman Attacked With Beer Bottles
Joliet, IL- A domestic violence incident occurred last Wednesday in the 900 block of Prairie Avenue at approximately 7:30pm. Reimundo Rodriguez assaulted a woman with beer bottles in a domestic altercation and was arrested after police were called to the scene. Rodriguez was hauled out in cuffs and was booked into the Will County Jail later on that night.
Rodriguez was charged with domestic battery and had 3 additional warrants out for his arrest prior to this incident. He is currently in jail with a bail total of $21,000.
Woman Attacks Police During Arrest
Joliet, IL- On September 10th, police were called to handle a situation in which Janquishlan Aguirre was an unwanted guest in a tenant's apartment. Aguirre lives in the same apartment building on the 300 block of Bluff Street and is also the girlfriend of the tenant.
Police arrived and requested for Aguirre to leave the apartment. After refusal to leave, Aguirre eventually kicked an officer. This began the officers attempt to take her into custody. During the scuffle, Aguirre tried to put an officer in a headlock and while in the back of the police car she attempted to kick the window out.
She was booked into Will County Jail with a bail of $50,000 and was charged with aggravated battery, resisting the arrest, and criminal damage to state supported property.
