The Joliet Slammers take a mental break right before finishing their season.

On August 24th, the Joliet Slammers asked on Twitter how they should spend their weekend twitting “After 18 weeks, 48 home games, and over 3,000 hours worked, our office will be closing for a brief mental health break.”

Fans hope that this break is what the team needs so that they can come back and finish off the season stronger.  Roman, a fan of the Joliet Slammers, says, “Its good that they are taking a break because they can come back more energized and prepared to win the rest of the games.”

So far, the Joliet Slammers have been killing it with 46 wins and 43 losses. Their batting average of  .250 will hopefully increase by the time their season ends if they manage to get more solid wins. This season for the Joliet slammer is still up in the air as they only have a 6-point difference between winning and losing.

Fanatics of the Joliet Slammers will patiently wait as Roman once again states, “If they need the week they can glady take it.” Meanwhile, fans on Twitter couldn’t be happier as one fan tweets,

“Dog and a beer? Relax and watch someone else do the work,” followed by a gif asking if they should go see a baseball game.

This long-awaited break comes after the team has played 2 away games and 48 home games.  By the time they return their season will end with 3 away games and 3 home games. Their last 3 home games will be the celebration of going back to school.  The Joliet slammers will also close their season with a firework show whether they win or lose on September 4th, 2022.  A perfect way to end the baseball season and summer.

This coffee shop is a little different from cafes already opened in the Joliet, Plainfield and Shorewood areas. Situated on 852 Sharp Drive in the Sharp Center off Black Road near Route 59 in Shorewood, the coffee shop, previously owned by a kickboxing studio, is close to the Bliss Hair Studio. The owners, Dana Buxbaum and her husband Shaun Tenant, mixed what they loved to create their idea of the perfect coffee shop. “I always wanted a coffee shop,” said Dana Buxbaum, “My husband and I combined our love of gaming with my vision of the coffee shop.” The coffee shop has made available bookshelves full of games such as Clue, The Serial Killer Trivia Game, Sorry, Dragoon and many more. In an interview with Patch editor, Buxbaum stated that they have “[...] about 400 games in [their] library” with family-friendly and inclusive...

Starting on December 1, users will no longer be presented with an option to list their sexual orientation, their political views, their address, or their religious views on their personal profiles. Facebook did not provide an explanation for this decision. The decision was announced one week after Meta, the parent company of Facebook, fired 11,000 employees, 13% of its total workforce; whether or not these two events are correlated, however, remains unclear.
