On September 11th, from noon to eight PM, after their eucharistic procession, St. Mary Nativity will be hosting an array of activities for all ages. The day will be a celebration of the cultures of the various ethnic communities of the Joliet area, particularly those of Polish, Croatian, and Hispanic descent. Bruce Korosa and his award-winning orchestra will play polka music from noon to three. Following that, traditionally-garbed Hispanic folk dancers will perform from three to five, and the band Junkyard Dawgs will close out the night with more contemporary classic rock and blues from five to eight.
While the musicians and dancers perform, there will be food vendors, a “Car Cruise”, a game of beanbag toss to play, a football game to watch, an inflatable slide for the kids, and more.
St. Mary Nativity is located on 706 N Broadway Street in Joliet, which is at the intersection of Route 53 and Ruby street, just before the Ruby Street bridge crosses over the Des Plaines River.
