Man Fights Joliet Police Officers and Bites a St. Joseph Doctor

Love Walker, a 39-year-old Joliet man, was arrested and booked into the Will County Jail on November 27, 2020 following multiple physical altercations. According to the Joliet Police, they responded to a disturbance call on Thanksgiving night around 11:15 p.m. where Walker and his neighbor had gotten into a verbal altercation. For Walker, this altercation would lead to him putting an officer in a headlock, biting a St. Joseph Doctor, and biting an officer in the leg before being taken straight to the Will County Jail.

According to a police report, when the officers arrived on the scene “Walker was involved in a verbal altercation with his neighbors and was walking towards them in an aggressive manner.” The police report goes on to explain that as officers tried to gain control of the situation, Walker ran back towards his own home and pushed an officer in the process. According to the police report Walker “placed the officer in a headlock. An arriving officer on scene then deployed a taser on Walker and he was placed into custody without further incident.”

A Joliet Fire Department ambulance was tasked with taking Walker to the AMITA Health St. Joseph Medical Center, which would take care of whatever injuries he suffered during the altercation with police. According to Joliet police, “while being treated at the hospital, Walker bit the hand of an emergency room doctor, causing serious injury. Walker was released from the hospital a short time later.”

Following his release from St. Joseph hospital, Walker was uncooperative and refused to get into a Joliet Police car, which would take him to the downtown Joliet police station for booking. The police report goes on to explain that, “while Walker was still on a hospital gurney, he bit the leg of an officer, causing minor injury. Walker was then transported to the Will County Jail after refusing to cooperate with booking procedures at the Joliet Police Department.” Will County Jail’s information logs show that Walker’s bail has been set at $250,000.

The owners, Dana Buxbaum and her husband Shaun Tenant, mixed what they loved to create their idea of the perfect coffee shop. “I always wanted a coffee shop,” said Dana Buxbaum, “My husband and I combined our love of gaming with my vision of the coffee shop.” The coffee shop has made available bookshelves full of games such as Clue, The Serial Killer Trivia Game, Sorry, Dragoon and many more. In an interview with Patch editor, Buxbaum stated that they have “[...] about 400 games in [their] library” with family-friendly and inclusive...

Starting on December 1, users will no longer be presented with an option to list their sexual orientation, their political views, their address, or their religious views on their personal profiles. Facebook did not provide an explanation for this decision. The decision was announced one week after Meta, the parent company of Facebook, fired 11,000 employees, 13% of its total workforce; whether or not these two events are correlated, however, remains unclear.
