Glenn Van Cura was appointed as head of Catholic Charities in the Diocese of Joliet in September 2010 by then-Bishop J. Peter Sartain. While under Glenn Van Cura’s leadership, the Catholic Charities in the Diocese of Joliet has seen extraordinary growth and success. Glenn Van Cura has also served with the Archdiocese of Chicago, has prior experience with the Peace Corps in Korea and private sector executive leadership. The University he is accepting the position at is only a couple of miles away from his Korean family’s house.

Bishop Hicks sends Glenn Van Cura off writing “We will miss his presence and leadership. He is accompanied not only by our heartfelt gratitude, but also our good wishes and prayers as he embarks on this new endeavor.”

Glenn Van Cura writes, in his director’s message for the Catholic Charities in the Diocese of Joliet, “This is a very exciting opportunity for me, and I am looking forward to this next stage in my life’s journey.” Van Cura looks back at his time with Catholic Charities as one of his greatest joys and as a true sense of accomplishment.

In an interview with Patch editor, Buxbaum stated that they have “[...] about 400 games in [their] library” with family-friendly and inclusive...
