There have been cases of gun violence and possession in Joliet recently, here are a few stories detailing those events.
2 Teens Shot in Joliet
Joliet, IL - On Thursday afternoon 2 teens were shot and severely injured. The shooting occurred on the east side of Joliet on East Benton Street. The 17 year old boys were taken to nearby hospitals.
Joliet police continues to search for the shooter and would appreciate any information if possible.
Man Caught With Gun After Beating Murder Case
Joliet, IL - Rasean Stokes, 21, faces a felony charge of unlawfully possessing a gun. Stokes was charged on August 17 after being arrested on I80 by Will County sheriffs.
Stokes was once charged with the murder of Jeremiah Frazier, in 2020. The charges were eventually dropped and Stokes was jail free until this incident.
Random Shots Ring in Plainfield
Joliet, IL - The Joliet Police Department investigated shots heard near Kendall Ridge Park. No arrests have been made.
Gunfire in Joliet No Property Damage, No Injuries
Joliet, IL - On Wednesday, Joliet officers responded to a report of gunshots. The officers arrived at Faxton Lane and Townsend Boulevard.
During JPD's investigation, they believe that there were residents at the local park. They could not locate anyone or anything hit in the crossfire but there were spent shell casings that confirmed that shots were fired.
They would like any information on the shooting to be reported to them.
